You will need to change the operating system to one that has drivers available. i have a midi/usb lead, but when i try to play my keyboard in garageband. Problem is that I don't see any for Windows 95. They do have drivers, So it looks like this piano is non-standards complaint and needs them. Yamaha is better now and in their higher-end pianos have removed USB MIDI.

Yamaha had a bad reputation with their older pianos not following MIDi over USB standard and requiring users to install special Yamaha-specific drivers in the computer. If it does not work then Yamaha has used some non-standard software interface. If this works then all is well, fire up Garage Band the make a recording. It will beep it you press a piano key until you turn off test mode. If it works run the audio/MIDI setup utility and then there is an icon to click labled "test". But I'd expect it to show up as a Yamaha DP. If that comes and goes when you plug and unplug the keyboard you've found it. But I just cant install the USB -MIDI driver. Then Ive installed the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver and It appears at the SOUND (CONTROL PANEL) as both playing and recording tabs. When I run the USB-MIDI Driver V3.1.4 for Win 10/8.1/8/7 SP1 (64-bit) (latest version) it stops with the Error 25001 - (no device (hardware) found. This is purely hardware and shows everything even if the software is not "connected".
